Trust & Faith

Today was one of those days that I prayed for more faith in God as I repeated my life verse many times. "Trust in the Lord with all you heart and lean not on you own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy path. Have any of you ever asked "Why?" I think the Lord understands our weaknesses when we ask "why", but He is always saying to me, "Trust Me". Trust me with you will, your life, your frustrations, your joys, and your heart aches and yes all your children and grandchildren. Lean on ME and I will never fail you. Sometimes this seem harder when life has affected one that you love and and is dear to you, but again He says "Trust Me". I have them all in the palm of my hand, they are mine and I will give them peace, strength, courage and to be with them every day. Thank you Lord for this promise!!! It is so wonderful to have our Lord who can give us more faith and to every plea and prayer from our lips.
Today we mowed all day, I mowed our lawn and Carl mowed the feild. Everything looks so nice. The shingles are all on the house and they look very nice. Thank the Lord for that. No more rain inside the house. We bought the shower and all the fixtures and hope that they can get all that installed this week. Monday, they plan to put all the siding, fascia and porch ceiling. raining day

Hello Family, Today was a rainy day all day. Carl and I had a leisurly morning with breakfast of coffee, pancakes, eggs and sausage. We really didn't hurry to get up since it was damp and rainy outside and no workers were here to work. About 10:30we decided to walk over to the house to see if there were any leaks in the house. Praise the Lord, there were only a few and not bad. We have a big tarp over the roof since the shingles are not on yet. I decided I wanted to put the railing back on the the back porch. I really did pretty good. I cut 30" 2x4 against the pillars they put on and placed the old railing back on. I had to use screws since the spikes were too hard for me to hammer into the 4x4, so Dad used spikes and he hammered them all in place. I have learned to use the table saw myself, measure and cut and the drill works real well. The porch looks real nice with all the railing up. Tomorrow I will take some pictures of the back and front porch and put them on the blog tomorrow. It really started to pour so we got our lawn chairs and just sat on the back porch and listened to the rain. How tranquil that was. We thought this would be a good day to go and do our laundry, so we went to town and got that done, ate at Zaxby and then went to Wally World and then to Lowes. We decided on our shower, toilet and shower door. We will probably go in and get them on Fri. unless they want to come out Fri to do the plumbing and then Carl will go in and get them tomorrow. One of us want to stay around here tomorrow if they are here to put on the shingles. I'm going to have a hard time leaving this place in Aug to go to our project, but I guess we will, since Carl is the one that feels we should fulfill our commitment. I am ready to stay at home!!!! Especially with the price of deisel. It is killing us to move!!! We will be going to Camden, Ohio and plan to stay 2 month-Aug & Sept then back here in Crossville. Well, I had better say good night and hit the sack. God is so good to us. Thank you Lord for your love and patience and for still teaching us to have more faith and trust in Y0u.. SMG

The Comforts of Home?

Enjoyed your comment on the comforts of home Carla. Everything sounded so wonderful and I am looking forward to the comforts of our little home. Oh, how I long for that!!! Right now, that seems like a long way off and I am tired... How tired can a person really get? I think I have experienced being exhausted, but things don't get done if I don't keep trugging along. They finished the porch out back and put the tar paper on the roof but we are wondering how good that job is done. It started to rain and would you believe it did rain in quite a lot inside the house. They used #15 tar paper which is very light and the rain must have blown up under. In the kit there was a 6' area all wet, back in the sewing room the same and in the living room. Boy was I upset!!!! Randy came out, but no one seemed too concerned. We asked about a heavier weight tar paper and he said that is all the heavier he uses. Today they finished putting the front porch on, but we made them put a tarp over the roof since they call for rain tonight. Tomorrow, they plan to start the shingles. Rick brings his 14 year old son and his friend to work and he pays them $9. per hour, but today all they did was stand around, helping out just alittle. Last week the boys worked real hard, but adding a porch is more for an experienced carpenter. We plan to talk to Randy about that as well. It's 10 oclock and the comfort of that bed is calling me, so I'm going to say goodnight, and God bless each and everyone. SMG

Thoughts from DAD

Well------We thought we did a pretty good job on the porch in the front of our house. We used the exisiting pillars, measured everything, lined it all up. We thought it came out pretty good, but this picky carpenter stretched a line along the building to the front edge of porch and found it to be 1 inch too far past the house, so he took it apart, cut it down and lined it up perfectly. So much for our perfect porch. My thoughts, it was good enough for me, but I'm sure Dad will double measure and square up everything from here on out. Oh, for perfection!!!! Tomorrow, Dad will mow the field in the morning while I try and straighten up the inside of the house. We are taking tomorrow afternoon off and just relaxing and enjoying the outside. We have so many birds out here. We have a pair of blue birds nesting in our bird house, we have a pair of blue buntings feeding at the feader, and a blue grosbeak. All are so beautiful and brillant blue. We also have snakes. When they were taking off the roof of the house there was a big snake in the eves of the roof, eating the birds that had built a nest in the roof as well. They didn't kill it but dropped it down and Dad threw it into the woods. If I see it, it will be DEAD. It was a corn snake. Grose!!!!! Our neighbor brought us a big bag of cucumbers the other day and we were invited up to the other neighbors for lunch last week. We have also had neighbors down the road come by to meet us. Everyone seem so friendly. Anita, neighbor said I can have all the apples I want from their apple tree in the fall. I think next year we will have a big garden and I will do a lot of canning. Can't wait. The weather up here is much better than FL. It is cool at night and in the 70's during the day. Today it was somewhat warmer, but it cools down quickly. With the high price of gasoline, I'm not sure how long we will stay in MMAP. When we finish this house, I think I will be ready to settle down. Enjoyed reading all your blogs, so I will try and keep up with everyong where abouts each day. It is so wonderful to have a family that is has so much love for one another. Not everyone can say that, and each one is special in their own way and I love each and everyone. SMG

Looking like HOME

My dear family, I am finally back to real life. It is interesting how being without a computer makes you feel you are lost and not in touch with the real world. Our house is beginning to really feal like home. For all the grandchildren who have such fond memories of 3355 Sandpiper, life here in Crossville, TN. is like paradise. Just think when you come to visit Grandparents now with all your little ones running around, they will have 12 acres to roam around, go fishing, roam the woods, ride the tracter, play ball or most anything and you won't disturb anyone. All are welcome. Things are really taking shape this week. We have the back porch on and it is wonderful. Tomorrow, Ken and Faye (MMAPers) are coming over and we will have a chicken barbeque outside on the back porch. Note the picture. All our windows are in, the dumpster will be out of here on Tuesday and we have burned about 1/2 of the brush at the side of the house. Christina, I am sure if you and Gwen ever get to come to the US you would think that this feel like Grandma's home.I did enjoy your and cindy's comment on 3355. What grandchildren remember when they are small. Ghost in the closet. How interesting!!! I'm going to publish this before it goes away. Will write more again. Love to you all. SMG

last plank, first lunch!!

Hellooooo everyone. Unfortunately, I am unable to get on the internet so I haven't had a chance to blog. Right now we are down at Bill and Carlas so I am using her computer to et everyone know as soon as we get a new computer and internet service I will pick up on my page. We moved our rig over to the house on Saturday so now we look out our living room window at our house we are working on. We hope to get a phone and internet service soon, but my computer died so I have to get a new one. We put our last board down for our flooring and ate lunch (sandwiches) in our kitchen area. I have pictures, but none to publish today. I feel i'm lost without a computer. I can't even play any games. How horrible. Hope everyone will keep in touch even though I am not able to respond. Carla is calling for dinner. Love you all. SMG
