Another story

Today was a different story. I was trying to finish painting the boards for the trim on our windows and it was raining cat and dogs outside. It rained very hard for about 2 hours and I was having trouble with all the holes in the barn roof. It seems everywhere I would put the painted boards, there would be rain drops splashing my painted boards. Ugh!!!! Yes, I finally got them all painted and put in areas where the rain didn't hit them, some standing along the side of the wall. I then painted the trim around the front door, its dark green and it looks real nice. Now we have to trim out the windows. Another days work. Dad was putting a strip on the bottom of the barn door leading to the lean-too so the snakes don't come in. He saw a big black snake in the lean-too so thought it might be nice to cover up the open space under the door. The last thing I want is to see a big black snake in the barn when I go to get the mower!!!!! Ofcourse there are many other places they can get in. ha!!! Dad also was working on the electric in the quonset hut. I think he is about ready to run the wire over from the barn..We're waiting to hear the news that we are great grandparents. Think about Christina every day and praying for a great, quick and good delivery. Love to each one. Love Mom

God's creation

Today is one of those days you want to really enjoy. It is so fallish outside, raining and cool. You just want to snuggle down inside a blanket and read a book, but we got up and started working. Dad is wiring electric in the quansit (spelling) hut and I started painting the boards for trim around our windows. I was in the barn painting and could hear the rain go pitter pat on the barn roof. The barn was so nice to work in on a raining day. After we ate lunch we sat on the front porch and we so enjoyed the army of birds flying around. 6 woodpeckers, pileated woodpecker, about 8 blue birds, flycatchers, phoebes, hummers and many others. The tree out front has little blue berries on it and the birds must love them so they were thick flying around. It was interesting just to hear them chatter and watch them and just enjoy one of the many creatures of God's creation. Our rock walls around the trees look so nice. We planted azalea around one and rhodeodendrons around the other one. The one closest to the house I'm still trying to decide what to put in that one. I want something that comes up every year by itself. On Monday it was a beautiful day to be outside and work. Nice and cool and the sun was shinning so we I mowed the yard while Day mowed the field. We then finished our 3rd rock wall and got all the plants planted. God is so good and we do enjoy the beauty around us.
